Mr. Watson is chair of the Bankruptcy Group. His practice focuses on representing secured lenders in pre-bankruptcy workouts and Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. In addition, Mr. Watson represents several national franchisors in bankruptcy cases of franchisees and is a frequent lecturer on a variety of bankruptcy related topics. He is licensed to practice in Georgia and New York and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Bankruptcy Law Institute.

Mr. Watson is listed in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business and is listed in the Best Lawyers in America. He received his J.D., in 1996, from the Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law and his B.A., in political science, in 1993 from the University of Georgia. Prior to joining Alston & Bird, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable John T. Laney III, United States Bankruptcy Judge in the Middle District of Georgia. Mr. Watson is active in his community, including serving on the Atlanta Executive Leadership Council for the American Cancer Society.
