Jason Cashio

Jason is an attorney with Kean Miller in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he focuses his practice on product liability litigation and medical malpractice matters for defendants, as well as professional liability and general business litigation. His work includes defending manufacturers and health care providers in complex litigation, with an emphasis on Medical Malpractice Law – Defendants and Product Liability Litigation – Defendants. Jason regularly advises clients in the health care industry on risk management, regulatory considerations, and day-to-day legal issues affecting medical practices and facilities.

In addition to his litigation practice, Jason counsels clients on electronic discovery and information governance, including e-discovery compliance, management of electronically stored information, and the development of retention and destruction policies and procedures. His experience in these areas allows him to assist clients in navigating discovery obligations efficiently and defensibly in state and federal courts.

Following law school, Jason served as a law clerk to the Honorable Frank J. Polozola of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana in 1998, gaining valuable insight into federal court practice and procedure that continues to inform his work on behalf of clients.

Outside of his legal practice, Jason is an avid distance runner. He has completed at least a half marathon in all 50 states, including a 50-mile ultramarathon in 2022, and continues to pursue his goal of running a marathon in all 50 states. In 2025, he completed all Abbott World Marathon Majors—Chicago, London, Berlin, Sydney, New York, Tokyo, and Boston—earning the Six Star Medal.
