Jason B. Stephens

Jason Stephens is one of the most accomplished personal injury and wrongful death trial lawyers in the United States. He is the founding partner of Stephens Law, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, where he has nearly three decades of experience representing individuals and families who have suffered catastrophic injuries or devastating loss at the hands of negligent corporations, trucking companies, and insurance carriers.

In 2025 alone, Jason secured two of the largest truck accident settlements in Texas — a $64.5 million wrongful death settlement (over $43M paid to client after fees and expenses) and a $54.7 million settlement (over $33.6M paid after fees and expenses). He also secured the largest personal injury settlement in Tarrant County history. Earlier in his career, he obtained the largest personal injury verdict in Grayson County history and the number one electrocution verdict in the United States in 2022. His record-setting verdicts and settlements extend back to 2004 when he stunned the legal community by obtaining the 5th largest verdict in Texas and the 47th largest verdict in the United States. His total recoveries exceed well over $300 million on behalf of injured clients and their families.

Jason purposefully limits his practice to select catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases — the cases where the stakes are highest, the opposition is most powerful, and the margin for error is zero. His approach is deeply client-immersive: when he takes on a case, his client's loss becomes his own, and he does not stop until he has exhausted every avenue for justice.

In 2024, Jason was inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Trial Lawyers, an honor extended by invitation only to fewer than one percent of trial lawyers in the United States — reserved exclusively for those who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose careers reflect the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct. He has been named a Texas Super Lawyer for 23 consecutive years, recognized in the Top 100 Super Lawyers statewide and in the Dallas/Fort Worth region, and selected as a Top 10 Trucking Trial Lawyer nationally. He holds a perfect 10.0 AVVO rating and AV Preeminent peer-review designation, and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America since 2016.

Jason earned his B.B.A. in Management from Texas Christian University, and his M.B.A. and J.D. from Baylor University. He has served as an adjunct professor of Advanced Trial Advocacy at Baylor Law School, as president of the Tarrant County Trial Lawyers Association, and as a past board member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. He is a former officer in the United States Army Reserves.

Beyond the courtroom, Jason is committed to his family and community. He and his wife lead the Stephens Family Foundation, which provides financial support and resources to local schools and communities.
