Jasmina Richter practices in the areas of commercial litigation, intellectual property, professional liability defense, construction defect litigation, insurance coverage and bad faith litigation.

As part of her insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, Jasmina represents insurers in complex insurance coverage actions. Jasmina analyzes coverage under a wide variety of policies including commercial general liability, commercial property, professional liability, director and officer liability, aviation liability, commercial auto, garage liability, educators’ liability, managed care liability, homeowners, public entity liability, and excess policies.

Jasmina is also regularly retained by insurers that are faced with an assignment of rights, covenant not to execute and resulting consent/stipulated judgments (referred to as Damron/Morris agreements in Arizona) and the unique legal issues that arise when defending against the enforceability of those agreements. Jasmina’s extensive knowledge and experience with Arizona law on consent judgments, gives her a particular ability to counsel clients in these cases, which typically involve complex coverage issues, bad faith allegations, and issues relating to enforceability of the consent/stipulated judgments. Jasmina has successfully litigated cases involving numerous multi-million-dollar stipulated judgments resulting from Damron and Morris agreements, obtaining favorable results for the insurers in each.

Jasmina is also regularly retained as monitoring/coverage counsel on complex claims involving excess insurance and large loss litigation throughout the southwest states. She regularly serves as legal counsel in cases where consent judgments are anticipated to assist in navigating coverage issues and policy limit demands to resolve cases favorably and avoid a consent judgment altogether. Jasmina is also retained by public entities and insurers to provide counsel on risk transfer strategies and to ensure that all available coverage and indemnity obligations are triggered in cases where there are complicated contractual and additional insured issues.

Jasmina also represents professional such as architects, engineers, accountants, and insurance agents in professional liability cases. She also litigates business disputes, trade secret, and intellectual property disputes.

Jasmina manages all aspects of her cases from depositions, to alternative dispute resolution, and on through trial. She argues regularly before state trial and appellate courts as well as United States District Court.

Jasmina received a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Pennsylvania State University. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law where she graduated with Honors in 2005.
