Jim Silverstein joined Kean Miller in 2012 and is based in New Orleans, Louisiana. His practice focuses on Admiralty and Maritime Law and Product Liability Litigation – Defendants, along with matters involving energy, construction, environmental, and commercial litigation.
Jim has substantial litigation and trial experience representing clients in admiralty and maritime disputes, energy and oil and gas matters, and complex product liability litigation. He regularly defends manufacturers and other defendants in product liability cases involving a wide range of products, including ladders, electrical motors, fans, table saws, radial arm saws, planers, power tools, cranes, and pumps. His practice also includes the defense and prosecution of commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Jim has tried more than 65 cases to conclusion, including jury and bench trials, achieving defense verdicts in courts across Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas. His experience spans both state and federal jurisdictions, with a consistent focus on efficiently managing complex litigation and trial preparation.
Jim is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
