Jamie Matthews is a Partner at Farris LLP in Vancouver, British Columbia, practising in a broad range of business and transactional matters. His practice includes Banking and Finance Law, Commercial Leasing Law, Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions Law, and Real Estate Law. Jamie advises private and public companies, lenders, borrowers, investors, and business owners on corporate and commercial transactions across a variety of industries.
Jamie’s experience includes advising clients on asset and share acquisitions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and financing transactions. He regularly assists with the drafting and negotiation of purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, financing and mortgage documents, commercial leases, easements, rights of way, and other corporate and real estate transaction documents.
In his Banking and Finance Law practice, Jamie works with lender and borrower clients on secured and unsecured lending matters, commercial financing arrangements, and related transaction documentation. His Commercial Leasing Law and Real Estate Law work includes commercial and residential real estate transactions, leasing matters, acquisitions, dispositions, and development-related agreements.
Jamie obtained Juris Doctor degrees from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and Bond University in Australia. Prior to attending law school, he earned a Bachelor of Administrative and Commercial Studies, with a focus on Finance and Administration, from the University of Western Ontario.
