James J. McHugh Jr.

James J. McHugh, Jr. is a trial attorney with Lopez McHugh LLP in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, whose practice focuses on representing plaintiffs in complex civil litigation, including medical malpractice, Mass Tort Litigation / Class Actions - Plaintiffs, and Product Liability Litigation - Plaintiffs. Throughout his career, Mr. McHugh has handled matters involving serious injuries and wrongful death, with experience ranging from failure to diagnose cancer to complex pediatric litigation.

Mr. McHugh has been involved in a number of high-profile and complex cases during his career. In 1999, working alongside James E. Beasley, Sr., he helped secure a $907 million verdict against Ira Einhorn in connection with the murder of Holly Maddux. In other matters, Mr. McHugh has obtained seven- and eight-figure recoveries for clients through verdicts and settlements, including a confidential settlement that ranks among the largest of its kind in Philadelphia. His work has also included representing hundreds of clients in mass tort and complex litigation matters.

In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. McHugh frequently lectures nationwide to audiences that include attorneys, physicians, and labor organizations.
