Biography
Jim Fitzgerald founded The Fitzgerald Law Firm with the cornerstone belief of finding truth and justice. He represents severely injured clients and families who have lost loved ones, people in complex damages cases in the areas of product liability resulting in catastrophic injuries and death, workplace liability, medical malpractice, and wrongful death.
Over the decades, Jim has developed a national reputation for delivering extraordinary results, holding the record for the highest number of verdicts ever upheld on appeal in Wyoming for personal injuries and wrongful death.
Jim is a member of several other exclusive trial lawyer organizations by peer nomination, including the Inner Circle of Advocates, an organization limited to 100 of the top plaintiff lawyers in the country, the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers.

Trial against interstate trucking company for wrongful death. Speeding semi truck driver killed our client''s husband. Jury verdict was 70% larger than final settlement offer and included punitive damages.
- Reynolds v. Ford
Trial resulting in largest award in the history of Teton County, Wyoming in a medical malpractice case.
- Donahue v. Caterpillar Tractor Company
Trial against a heavy equipment manufacturer for failure to guard the operator by installing rollover protection. For 18 years, this was the largest wrongful death verdict in Wyoming history (until surpassed by one of our subsequent cases).
- Tobin v. SmithKlineBeecham (now GlaxoSmithKline)
Co-Trial Counsel for Tobin and family of man who committed suicide following ingestion of Paxil. Largest wrongful death verdict in the history of Wyoming.
- American National Bank v. Hannifan
Bank was conservator for paraplegic, brain damaged man. Verdict of $22M is largest award for physical injuries in history of Wyoming.
