Biography
The cornerstone of Jimmy’s practice is to help people by solving their problems and contributing to their growth and success. His 50 years of legal experience is complemented by an in-depth background in finance, including a number of years working for the IRS as a Revenue Agent and Tax Law Specialist, as well as several years as an investment banker at Legg Mason.
With a commitment that the client’s interests always come first, Jimmy takes ownership of and responsibility for their issues and sees them through to resolution. This contributes to the fact he has many long-standing clients, some dating back to the 1970s. Jimmy, who is also a Certified Public Accountant, concentrates his practice on tax, corporate, securities, business and succession planning, and estate planning. He is especially interested in helping successful businesses and individuals where there are challenges in overcoming difficult ownership and family situations.
Jimmy has received an AV Rating, the highest rating given by Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Ratings™ for his legal ability and general ethical standing, and has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® listing for over 25 years. Jimmy has been involved in numerous charitable and civic endeavors. He was the recipient of the James Keith Public Service Award by the Fairfax Bar Association.
