Jaime E. Sanchez is a bilingual (English/Spanish) attorney in Littler's Long Island's office who defends and advises employers in the full spectrum of labor and employment matters.
Jaime litigates on behalf of employers of all sizes in federal and New York state courts and in arbitration, in matters ranging from single-plaintiff lawsuits to multiparty class and collective actions. He defends claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and whistleblowing, along with other post-employment disputes. He has particular depth in wage and hour class and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the New York Labor Law.
He also counsels companies on day-to-day workplace issues, including pay practices and wage notices, employee classification, policies and handbooks, discipline and terminations, and leave and accommodation questions. Because so much of his practice is spent defending claims, his advice reflects how these issues actually play out in litigation, helping clients reduce risk while supporting their business goals.
Jaime is a native Spanish speaker who handles matters in English and Spanish and works directly with Spanish-speaking business owners, executives, managers, and HR teams. In litigation, he interviews employees and managers, drafts declarations, and prepares deponents in their native language. That is a meaningful advantage in cases involving Spanish-speaking workforces. He also delivers workplace training in Spanish. Together with Littler colleagues across the United States and in the firm’s Latin America offices, he serves employers wherever they operate.
His clients include businesses in the hospitality, retail, and financial services industries.
