Liberty Latin America (LLA)
Liberty Latin America (LLA) on the merger with América Móvil (AMX) in order to combine their respective Chilean operations, VTR and Claro Chile, through a 50:50 joint venture agreement. VTR is a leading provider of high-speed fixed products, such as broadband and paid TV services, with approx. three million subscribers nationwide, and Claro is a leading telecommunications service provider, with more than 6.5 million mobile customers. This JV will create a greater scale business and product diversification with a capital structure that will enable a significant investment for fixed fiber footprint expansion and a forefront 5G mobile delivery.
Patria Investments
Patria Investments, a global alternative asset manager, along with Moneda Asset Management, a leading asset manager based in Chile, on the creation of an investment platform in Latin America, enhancing Patria's product offering by creating the number one Private investments in Public Equities (PIPE) manager in the region. The deal included a sale of shares and an international merger.
Werthein Group
Werthein Group on the local aspects of the agreement for the acquisition of Vrio. Vrio is AT&T's entertainment business unit that operates the brands DirectTV Go, DirectTV Latin America and Sky Brazil, which altogether represent 10.3 million subscribers in 11 countries.
Ambipar
Ambipar on the acquisition of 100% of Disal, a Chilean environmental management company, through the acquisition of the Chilean company Disal Ambiental Holding and its subsidiaries in Chile, Peru, Paraguay and Uruguay. Additionally, on the acquisition of 100% of the Chilean company, Inversiones Disal Emergencias, consolidating a 100% of the ownership of Suatrans.
BlackRock
BlackRock, the world largest asset manager, on the bidding and awarding process of the concession for the renovation, expansion and operation of the airports located in the cities of Balmaceda and Punta Arenas, which contemplates a total investment of USD162 million.
Qatar Airways, and its affiliates
Qatar Airways, and its affiliates, on the negotiation and execution of a debtor-in-possession (DIP) financing to LATAM Airlines during the reorganization process of the latter, under the Chapter 11 rules in the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, for up to USD2.45 billion.
Nova Austral
Nova Austral on a 50/50 joint venture with Trusal with the purpose to conduct fish farming activities in the Magallanes Region and to manufacture and commercialize salmon products.
Ferrero Group
Ferrero Group, Italian agribusiness conglomerate, global leader in the production of branded chocolate and confectionery products, on the acquisition of hazelnut farmland in Chile.
EWOS
EWOS, a Norwegian fish feed supplier for the aquaculture industry, on the acquisition of the Chilean fish farming company Nova Austral and its subsidiary, Comercial Austral, for USD183 million. The acquisition of Nova Austral was done under the bankruptcy of its controlling shareholder Acuinova.
Penguin Random House
Penguin Random House on the local aspects of the acquisition of Santillana, a trade book business of Spanish and Portuguese language, across 15 jurisdictions.
Liberty Global
Liberty Global on the acquisition of a 20% stake of VTR, a leader in the telecommunications business in Chile, for approx. USD418 million, thus becoming the 100% owner of VTR.
Inkia Energy
Inkia Energy, a subsidiary of Israel Corp., on the USD77 million acquisition of a 92.8% stake in the Central Tierra Amarilla, a thermoelectric generator plant, from the private equity fund Southern Cross Group.
Grupo Casa Saba
Grupo Casa Saba, a Mexican retail pharmacy holding, on the acquisition of the Chilean pharmaceutical chain Farmacias Ahumada through a tender offer for approx. USD465 million.
