Biography
Jacqueline M. Thomas is a Partner with Lacy Katzen LLP in Rochester, New York, and serves as Chair of the firm’s Personal Injury Litigation Department. With more than 25 years of experience as a trial attorney, her practice is focused on personal injury litigation on behalf of plaintiffs. Her work includes Medical Malpractice Law – Plaintiffs and Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs, representing individuals and families harmed by negligence.
Jacqueline handles a wide range of complex civil litigation matters, including medical and hospital malpractice, surgical errors, birth injuries, nursing home negligence and abuse, motor vehicle, trucking, and motorcycle accidents, wrongful death claims, premises liability, construction site accidents, and dog bite cases. She works closely with clients throughout every stage of litigation, from investigation and discovery through trial and resolution.
In addition to her personal injury practice, Jacqueline represents insurance policyholders in insurance coverage litigation involving disputes with insurance companies. She also acts as excess counsel in matters where clients face claims that exceed available insurance coverage. Her experience in this area provides valuable insight into policy interpretation and coverage issues that frequently arise in high-exposure cases.
Jacqueline also serves as Chair of the firm’s Risk Management Committee, where she addresses internal risk assessment and contingency planning. Her combined litigation and risk management experience supports Lacy Katzen LLP’s commitment to providing thorough and thoughtful legal representation to clients throughout Rochester and the surrounding areas of New York.
