Biography

Jaclyn J. Kurth is an Associate at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. who focuses her practice on catastrophic personal injury, medical negligence, and wrongful death cases.

Since joining the firm in 2021, Ms. Kurth has recovered more than $150 million on behalf of her clients, including:

  • $27 million settlement in a wrongful death case involving an unauthorized police pursuit

  • $20 million settlement in a catastrophic injury case involving a CTA bus, the highest reported settlement with the CTA at the time

  • $1.8 million premises liability jury verdict for a woman sexually assaulted by an on-duty hotel security guard

Ms. Kurth gained valuable experience with complex litigation and high-profile trials before becoming an attorney. She worked as a law clerk at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard for three years, where she built the foundation for her relentless preparation and early courtroom successes.

Today, Ms. Kurth draws on her early courtroom and litigation experience when representing her clients. She takes a thoughtful and thorough approach to each case, taking the time to understand what her clients have lost and fighting fiercely when opposing parties refuse to take responsibility.

In recognition of her work as a trial attorney, Ms. Kurth has been repeatedly named to Best Lawyers' “Ones to Watch” list and Illinois Super Lawyers' “Rising Stars” list.

In addition to her litigation work, Ms. Kurth is admitted to practice law in Illinois and Wisconsin and has contributed significantly to legal scholarship. She has published articles on apparent agency and the borrowed employee doctrine in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association’s Trial Journal, as well as an article on Illinois evidence law in The John Marshall Law Review.

Ms. Kurth is active in several legal organizations, including the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Lake County Bar Association, and McHenry County Bar Association. She is committed to making sure her clients have a strong voice in the courtroom and ensuring their interests are protected during the most difficult moments of their lives.

Ms. Kurth graduated magna cum laude from UIC John Marshall Law School in 2020, where she served on the Moot Court Honors Council and as a Staff Editor for The John Marshall Law Review.
