Biography

Jackson is Managing Partner at Roam Migration Law and has worked in immigration since 2008, primarily on employer sponsored visa matters. His experience ranges from Fortune 500 and ASX companies to start-ups and boutique SMEs. His current practice is focused on employer sponsored visa matters, corporate compliance, the Global Talent program and advocating for policy reform.

Jackson is particularly interested in the confluence of immigration and employment law and how government policy shapes the experiences of temporary migrants in the workplace. He is also interested in policy reform in business and skilled migration, using academic research to improve migration outcomes, and employer compliance.

He presents regularly at national and international conferences on Australian immigration law and policy matters, has previously lectured at the Australian Catholic University on immigration law, and is frequently cited in the media on immigration issues.

Jackson is currently a past Board member of Migration Institute of Australia, member of the Law Institute of Victoria Migration Law Committee, the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA) Victoria and Tasmania State Committee, and a current Associate Fellow of the MIA.

Co-founder and CEO of RegTech Startup, Complize, focused on delivering end-to-end immigration legal compliance services to organisations with a temporary visa holder workforce in Australia

He holds a Juris Doctor (LLM) and Masters of Workplace and Employment Law from Monash University, a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Melbourne University, Graduate Certificate in Australian Immigration Law & Practice from Victoria University, and Diploma of Legal Practice from the University of Tasmania. He was admitted to the Tasmanian Supreme Court in 2015.
