J. S. "Chris" Christie Jr.

J.S. "Chris" Christie practices in Dentons Sirote’s Litigation group, based in Birmingham, Alabama. He has handled False Claims Act, class action, and bet-the-company cases, cases involving stock valuations, financial expert witnesses, and statistical expert witnesses, and appeals to the Supreme Court of Alabama and to the federal Circuit Courts of Appeals. He frequently speaks and publishes on employee benefits, legal ethics, and trial techniques.

In employee benefits litigation, Chris represents plans, fiduciaries, and insurers in ERISA cases and in governmental plan cases. He has tried several ERISA fiduciary breach trials. Since 2012, he has been a Fellow with the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel.

In healthcare litigation, Chris primarily represents hospitals, physicians and other providers and also has represented insurers, HMOs and other managed care organizations. For healthcare clients, he has tried and won at trial two healthcare False Claims Act cases against the Department of Justice.

In administrative proceedings, Chris represents clients, including hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and physicians, before the Alabama State Health Planning and Development Agency and Certificate of Need Review Board concerning Certificate of Need applications and in related contested case proceedings.
