Lister Hubbard, a native of Montgomery, was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1980. He received an A.B.J., magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia, and a J.D from the University of Alabama School of Law as a Hugo L. Black Scholar. Lister concentrates his practice in the areas of construction law, public procurement law, environmental law and commercial litigation.
As legal counsel for the Alabama AGC (Associated General Contractors), he drafted and facilitated passage of comprehensive reform legislation for Alabama’s competitive bid law. He has attained statewide prominence in the field of public procurement law, counseling both business and government as well as shaping legislative and regulatory initiatives in the field. Lister is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and also has been designated a “Super Lawyer” in the field of construction law, having litigated a number of construction and procurement cases over the years. In addition to representing trade associations in the construction, road building and engineering fields, Lister served as environmental legal counsel to the Alabama Pulp and Paper Council for many years. He continues to represent industries, businesses and municipalities on environmental compliance and related litigation.
