J.K. Leonard

J.K. Leonard is a full-time mediator based in San Antonio, Texas with Leonard Resolution Services PLLC. His legal background includes extensive work in commercial litigation, mediation, personal injury litigation for defendants, and product liability litigation for defendants.

Prior to focusing on mediation, Mr. Leonard practiced in the areas of product liability, complex torts, commercial litigation, and non-medical professional liability. He also served as monitoring and coverage counsel in complex tort matters for excess insurance carriers. His litigation experience includes representing manufacturers of recreational products, consumer goods, electrical supply and distribution products, process automation equipment, construction and agricultural equipment, and industrial equipment.

Mr. Leonard regularly appeared in courts throughout the state of Texas and served as regional and national counsel for manufacturers in numerous state and federal courts outside of Texas. His work provided him with broad exposure to multi-jurisdictional litigation and the practical considerations involved in resolving complex disputes.

He was honored to serve as the only two-time Chairman of the Board of ALFA International (2005–2007 and 2015–2016). ALFA International (www.alfainternational.com) is a global legal network based in Chicago, Illinois, comprised of approximately 150 member law firms worldwide.

In addition to his mediation practice, Mr. Leonard frequently lectures for clients and trade associations on topics involving litigation strategy, risk management, and preventative legal issues, drawing on his years of experience representing defendants in commercial and product-related disputes.
