Ben Alexander is an experienced trial lawyer who focuses his practice on the defense of health care professionals. Mr. Alexander has represented large hospital systems, free standing hospitals, national insurers of health care providers, physician group practices and individual nurses and physicians in both professional negligence and licensing matters. He has tried to verdict numerous cases involving allegations of wrongful death, traumatic birth injury, negligent care and treatment, misdiagnosis, and lack of informed consent.
He was included in the South Carolina Super Lawyers list for Personal Injury - Medical Malpractice: Defense and named Upstate Legal Elite – Healthcare by Greenville Business Magazine. His clients include the Greenville Health System, Universal Health Services, Team Health, and local and national insurers of health professionals.
Mr. Alexander grew up in Greenville and is very active in the community. He is past president of the Family Counseling Center of Greenville, has served on the Young Professionals Committee of both the United Way and the Alliance for Quality Education and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Meals on Wheels of Greenville and as General Counsel of the Urban League of the Upstate, Inc. Mr. Alexander is a graduate of Leadership Greenville Class XVIII, Leadership South Carolina (1995) and the Diversity Leaders Initiative.
As an appointee of former South Carolina Governor Jim Hodges, Mr. Alexander served on the Board of Examiners for Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho-Education Specialists.
