Isaac A. Leon

Isaac A. Leon is a shareholder at Sutin, Thayer & Browne APC in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and a member of the firm’s commercial group. His practice focuses on Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions Law, and Tax Law, with additional experience in public finance and general business matters.

Mr. Leon advises closely held businesses, entrepreneurs, and other organizations throughout New Mexico on a wide range of corporate and transactional issues. His work includes representing buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions, counseling business owners on entity formation and governance, and assisting with private securities offerings conducted under Regulation D. He also works with taxpayers on federal income tax and New Mexico gross receipts tax planning, as well as representing clients in managed audits before the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department.

As part of his public finance practice, Mr. Leon assists the New Mexico Finance Authority with both taxable and tax-exempt financings in connection with its loan programs. His experience in tax and finance allows him to provide practical guidance on transactions involving complex regulatory and compliance considerations.

Mr. Leon earned his Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law, cum laude. He also holds an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law Graduate Tax Program, a Master of Business Administration from the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management, and a Bachelor of Accounting degree from New Mexico State University.
