Hugh Francis focuses his practice on defending health care providers in medical malpractice law for defendants. Since earning his law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2013, Hugh has represented physicians, hospitals, and other medical professionals in complex civil litigation. He also has experience in general litigation defense, including matters involving allegations of professional liability. Hugh practices in Memphis, Tennessee, with Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell PLC.
During law school, Hugh served as executive director of the Student Bar Association and received the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Legal Writing. He remains actively involved in the Memphis legal community through the Memphis Bar Association’s Health Law Section, where he has held leadership roles including secretary, vice chairman, and chairman. Hugh is a fellow of the Memphis Bar Foundation and a member of the Leo Bearman, Sr. American Inns of Court.
Hugh’s work in medical malpractice defense has been acknowledged through peer-based recognition. He has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers each year since 2020 and was listed in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America in 2024 for medical malpractice law – defendants.
