Mr. Goldwasser is recognized as one of a handful of U.S. lawyers to have pioneered the introduction of covered bonds to the U.S. capital markets and to have led the representation of a lead arranger or an issuer in the implementation of a covered bond program for a U.S. issuer. He has also advised on the structuring of covered bond programs for issuers based in Canada and Latin America.
Mr. Goldwasser has also represented banks and non-bank lenders in a variety of syndicated and bilateral financings, including project financings (construction and term phase), senior secured term loan financings, receivables and asset-based financings, and LBO financings.His clients have included, and include, many of the world's leading investment banks, commercial banks, non-bank lenders, hedge funds; and investment managers. Mr. Goldwasser is a member of the American Securitization Forum and a member of the steering committee of the U.S. Covered Bonds Council administered by SIFMA. The U.S. Covered Bond Council is a SIFMA – sponsored forum, the mission of which is to promote the development of a U.S. covered-bond market as a complementary and additional funding source for financial assets. The council works to develop market policies and practices, and represents the industry’s interest through constructive dialogue with legislative, regulatory, and other policymaking bodies. Mr. Goldwasser earned first tier ranks for Securitization and Structured Finance Law in US News Best Lawyers List 2011.
