Hollis Bromley is a Partner and a member of the firm’s Insurance Practice.

Her practice is primarily litigation-based, with an emphasis on insurance defence and insurance coverage. She deals with claims ranging from bodily injury and property damage to employment and human rights defence, including representing clients in class actions and complex commercial and regulatory matters. Hollis acts for insurers in relation to all types of coverages, including CGL, D&O, E&O, Cyber, EPL, All-risks, Wrap-up and Course of Construction policies. She defends claims and provides coverage advice for out-of-province motor vehicle insurers and their insureds. Hollis is an active member of the insurance defence legal community and is a two term past Chair of the Insurance Section of the Canadian Bar Association’s British Columbia Branch and three term President of The ARC Group Canada, a network of independent law firms across Canada that provides insurers and self-insured companies with insurance and risk-related legal services. She is a regular contributor to insurance industry publications and presenter for the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Defence Lawyers.

Within her professional liability practice, she represents the interests of acupuncturists, chiropractors, dentists, naturopaths, massage therapists, occupational therapists, optometrists, physiotherapists, psychologists, registered clinical counsellors, real estate appraisers, surveyors, home inspectors, mortgage brokers, and financial planners. Her experience spans various jurisdictions, including B.C., Alberta, and Manitoba. Hollis has dealt with an array of complaints against professionals, including sexual misconduct, harassment, failure to obtain consent, improper medical record management, fraudulent billing, improper advertising, improper infection controls, negligent performance of services resulting in injury or damages, and other bylaw and standard of practice infractions. She has also acted for various professional Colleges in civil and human rights matters, allowing her a unique perspective when representing professionals facing complaints to their College.

Hollis Bromley is an active member of the insurance defence legal community and has held a variety of executive positions for the Insurance Section of the Canadian Bar Association’s British Columbia Branch, including Chair of the section for the 2010 and 2011 terms. She also sits on the executive of The ARC Group Canada, a network of independent law firms across Canada that provides insurers and self-insured companies with insurance and risk-related legal services. She is a regular writer and contributor for insurance industry publications and a speaker for the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Defence Lawyers and to many clients on various topics.
