Hollis Bromley’s practice is primarily litigation based, with an emphasis on insurance defence and insurance coverage. She deals with claims ranging from bodily injury to property damage and her insurance coverage expertise includes acting for insurers in relation to all types of coverages, including CGL, D&O, E&O, EPL, All-risks, Wrap-up and Course of Construction policies. She provides coverage advice to insurers at all stages in the process, from investigation at the time of the loss thorough to litigation. She has also drafted insurance policy wordings for major insurers for various types of coverages.
Within her professional liability practice, Hollis has represented the interests of real estate appraisers, home inspectors, financial planners, and other construction related parties. Her experience spans various jurisdictions, including BC, Alberta, and Manitoba.
Hollis is an active member of the insurance defence legal community, and has held a variety of executive positions for the Civil Litigation and the Insurance sections of the Canadian Bar Association’s British Columbia Branches, including Chair of the Insurance section. She also is the current President of The ARC Group Canada, a network of independent law firms across Canada that provides insurers and self-insured companies with insurance and risk-related legal services. She is a regular writer and contributor for insurance industry publications and a speaker for the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Defence Lawyers and to many clients on various topics.
