Hillery R. Kaplan

Hillery Kaplan is an Austin, Texas family law attorney at Noelke Maples St. Leger Bryant LLP. She is the first attorney in her family and has devoted more than 20 years of her practice to Family Law, representing individuals and families through divorce and related matters.

Hillery approaches each family law case with careful analysis and preparation. She takes time to understand her client’s circumstances, priorities, and objectives, then develops a thoughtful legal strategy tailored to those goals. Her practice focuses on practical problem-solving and clear communication, helping clients navigate complex legal and personal issues with confidence.

Having experienced her own parents’ divorce while in high school, Hillery has a personal understanding of the impact family law matters can have on children and parents alike. She recognizes the importance of preserving the ability to co-parent after divorce and often works toward negotiated resolutions on parenting and property issues when appropriate, with the goal of reducing conflict and long-term stress.

When litigation is necessary, Hillery is a seasoned courtroom advocate who values preparation and effective advocacy. Her interest in trial work began in law school, where she attended Emory University School of Law and earned national recognition in moot court competitions, along with awards for oral advocacy and legal writing.

Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Hillery was born and raised there and graduated at the top of her class from a private high school. She later attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she met her husband, Dave. They have been together for more than 25 years and live in Northwest Austin with their two daughters.

Outside of her family law practice, Hillery enjoys staying active through tennis and pickleball. She also values time spent cooking, traveling, and scuba diving with her family.
