Biography
Hilary J. Orzick is an Associate at Wigdor LLP. Ms. Orzick represents individuals on a wide range of employment matters, including sexual harassment, gender, pregnancy, race, disability and age discrimination, retaliation, defamation, family and medical leave, wage and hour, whistleblower and contract claims. She has experience representing employees in single-plaintiff and class action litigation in both federal and state court. Ms. Orzick also has experience representing college students in connection with complaints of discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual assault.
Prior to joining Wigdor LLP, Ms. Orzick interned for the Legal Aid Society’s Employment Law Unit and two plaintiff-side labor and employment law firms in Manhattan. Additionally, Ms. Orzick participated in Cardozo’s Mediation Clinic, where she was trained by Cardozo Faculty and the New York Peace Institute to mediate claims in Manhattan Civil Court.
Ms. Orzick received her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and her B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University with minors in Inequality Studies as well as Law and Society. Upon graduation, Ms. Orzick received a Jacob Burns Medal for her successful contribution as competitor and Managing Editor to Cardozo’s Moot Court Honor Society, as well as a Certificate in Dispute Resolution for her advanced study in dispute resolution processes.
While at Cornell, Ms. Orzick helped form and implement the Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Education Program through Cornell’s Title IX Office, served as an Executive Board Member of the Women’s Resource Advisory Center and conducted presentations to various student organizations about sexual assault and students’ rights on college campuses.
Ms. Orzick is admitted to practice in the State of New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
