For nearly two decades, Heidi Tallentire has focused her practice exclusively on complex matrimonial and family law matters, from complicated financial issues to pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements to same-sex divorces to custody disputes. Her cases often involve multi-jurisdictional issues, and she has particular experience representing executives (or their spouses) in the hedge fund, private equity, and venture capital sectors, as well as other high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.

In the highly personal area of family law, Heidi approaches each of her cases individually. She works to understand her clients’ specific desires, and builds her legal strategies around them. When matters can’t be resolved through negotiation, she is prepared to address them in court and has tried numerous equitable distribution and custody matters in New York and Connecticut courts.

Heidi has also experienced the unfortunate reality that not every court decision is equitable or in the best interests of a child. Heidi has particular experience with New York appeals and advocating for a different result in the New York Appellate Division and the New York Court of Appeals.

Before co-founding KSTM, Heidi was a partner at Blank Rome, in one of the nation’s largest matrimonial practices. She also previously served as an adjunct professor of law at Rutgers School of Law-Newark’s S.I. Newhouse Center for Law and Justice, where she taught courses on family law.

Heidi is dedicated to strengthening families and assisting those in need through volunteering. She previously sat on the board of directors of Sheltering Arms, which seeks to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty through educational and developmental support for children and families in New York. She was also a board member of Weston United, which provides housing for the homeless and assists those with mental illnesses in New York City.

Heidi enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband in her spare time.
