Harrison E. James is a senior associate attorney at Wisner Baum's Los Angeles office, where he focuses his practice on mass torts, class actions, consumer fraud litigation, and qui tam whistleblower cases.
Originally from Houston, Texas, Harrison attended the University of Southern California, where he studied philosophy and English, and the UCLA School of Law. He is an active alumnus of both universities and enjoys mentoring students considering careers in law.
A seasoned litigator, Harrison was a key member of the legal team that litigated more than 11,000 Zantac cancer cases filed in California and Delaware state courts. He worked on all aspects of the litigations, from complex law-and-motion practice to expert development and trial preparation.
Harrison is also involved in the firm’s Actos litigation, a cutting-edge civil RICO class action against pharmaceutical manufacturers. In a historic first, the Wisner Baum team obtained certification of a national class of third-party payors alleging that defendant drug companies conspired to conceal the bladder cancer risk associated with the diabetes drug Actos. This victory was recently affirmed on appeal by the Ninth Circuit.
