Hanna Chandoo joined Hadsell Stormer Renick & Dai LLP in February 2021 and represents clients in Civil Rights Law, Labor and Employment Law - Employee, and Litigation - Labor and Employment matters in Pasadena, California and throughout the state. Her practice focuses on advocating for employees and individuals in complex litigation involving workplace rights, discrimination, and civil liberties.
Before joining the firm, Ms. Chandoo practiced at a boutique litigation firm where she served as lead associate in several complex commercial matters. She litigated cases in both state and federal courts across the country. Her prior work includes a zoning discrimination matter against the City of San Clemente that resolved shortly after cross-motions for summary judgment were filed, a negligence case involving the alleged mismanagement of a multi-million-dollar charitable donation, a class action brought on behalf of pensioners seeking lost benefits and retirement plan changes, and multiple patent infringement disputes involving technology-related industries.
Ms. Chandoo has long been committed to advancing civil rights, workers’ rights, and educational access. While attending Smith College, she developed tutoring programs for Somali refugee students in underfunded school districts and trained tutors to approach instruction through an intersectional framework. She also served on the President’s Vendor Code of Conduct Committee, which worked to promote fair labor practices among college vendors.
In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Chandoo serves as Vice President of the American Muslim Bar Association. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Muslim Bar Association of Southern California and the Los Angeles chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-LA).
Ms. Chandoo graduated second in her class from Whittier Law School, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Whittier Law Review and Administrative Justice of the Moot Court Honors Board. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College. Ms. Chandoo is proficient in Kiswahili, Spanish, and Urdu.
