Gusztáv Bacher

Gusztáv Bacher is the head of Szecskay Attorneys at Law’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. He specializes in civil law, competition law, intellectual property law and litigation.

In the area of ??intellectual property, he has considerable experience in enforcement proceedings before HIPO and EUIPO, and in domain dispute resolutions. He continuously provides legal advice to clients in developing their intellectual property strategy (e.g. creating a trademark portfolio). He regularly conducts intellectual property audits related to M&A transactions. He is involved in licensing contracts, research contracts, R&D collaboration agreements and know-how transfer agreements, including agreements between the business sector and the academic sector.

In the field of commercial law, Gusztáv has extensive experience in concluding distribution and franchise contracts, considering their compliance with competition law.

He is also a listed arbitrator on the Roll of Arbitrators of the Permanent Arbitration Court attached to the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Gusztáv was President of the International League of Competition Law (LIDC) between 2012 and 2014.
