Grant Walsh is a co-founder of CM Law, LLP, formerly known as Culhane Meadows Haughian & Walsh PLLC, and serves as the firm’s General Counsel. Based in Dallas, Texas, he focuses his practice on Commercial Litigation and Franchise Law, including business disputes, contract matters, franchising relationships, real estate transactions, and entertainment-related transactions.
Mr. Walsh is also a qualified mediator who helps clients evaluate and pursue practical resolutions to disputes. His work includes representing businesses, individuals, and other clients in litigation, arbitration, negotiations, and business transactions. He has represented clients ranging from international companies to small businesses and high-net-worth individuals in matters involving commercial relationships and business operations.
With litigation and arbitration experience in forums throughout the United States, Mr. Walsh represents both plaintiffs and defendants at every stage of a dispute. His approach emphasizes careful preparation, responsive communication, practical advice, and cost-conscious strategies designed to help clients pursue a fair and timely resolution. He advises clients at the negotiation table, in the boardroom, and in the courtroom.
In addition to his private law practice, Mr. Walsh is a commissioned officer in the Texas State Guard, where he serves as a Lieutenant Colonel (O-5) in the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps.
While attending Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, Mr. Walsh served on the Board of Editors for the SMU Law Review and as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Air Law & Commerce. He also spent a semester as a visiting student at Pepperdine School of Law’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution in Malibu, California. In 2003, he was selected as a summer clerk in the chambers of the Hon. Ed Kinkeade of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
After law school, Mr. Walsh practiced with a downtown Dallas law firm before joining an entertainment production company in Las Vegas as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for its global productions. During that time, he was involved in the negotiation, procurement, and construction of a commercial entertainment development at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino valued at more than $30 million. He has also worked on live entertainment transactions involving artists and productions in Atlantic City, Branson, Missouri, Los Angeles, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and New York, as well as matters involving numerous television appearances.
