Graig Zappia is a member of O’Connell and Aronowitz’s Business Law & Transactions practice group and advises businesses across a range of industries, including healthcare providers and healthcare-related entities, on transactional, regulatory, and litigation matters. His practice focuses on helping clients navigate complex operational, compliance, and business challenges.
Graig represents medical practices, laboratories, and other healthcare providers in business transactions, reimbursement and payor disputes, regulatory compliance matters, and related commercial litigation. He regularly counsels clients on contractual relationships, operational risk, and state and federal regulatory frameworks affecting healthcare entities, and works closely with clients to develop practical, business-driven solutions.
Graig’s healthcare practice is closely integrated with his business and employment-law experience. He advises organizations on asset acquisitions and sales, entity formation, governance matters, and day-to-day business counseling, as well as employment issues involving workplace discrimination, wage-and-hour compliance, FLSA and FMLA claims, restrictive covenants, and separation and severance matters. This integrated approach allows Graig to address legal issues holistically, with an understanding of how regulatory, operational, and workforce considerations intersect.
In addition to his core healthcare, business, and employment practice, Graig draws on experience representing private real-estate clients, developers, and lenders in select transactions and related disputes, as well as advising clients in commercial and civil litigation matters. This background allows him to provide practical counsel on deal structure, risk allocation, and dispute resolution in complex business settings.
Before joining O’Connell and Aronowitz, Graig was a partner at a regional law firm and previously founded his own law practice and affiliated title company, experience that continues to inform his practical, business-focused approach to client representation.
Graig is admitted to practice in all New York State courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of New York, and is a member of the New York State and Albany County Bar Associations.
He earned his Juris Doctor from Albany Law School of Union University, where he served as an appellate advocacy team member and coach, an executive board member of the Moot Court Program, and an article editor for the Environmental Outlook Law Journal. Graig received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Siena College.
