Caring, committed and qualified representation of those who are seriously injured. Grace Weatherly represents clients in state and federal courts across Texas and the surrounding states. Grace has tried over 50 trials to jury verdict, handled multiple appeals and several commercial arbitrations. Most of her cases are medical malpractice, catastrophic injuries, fiduciary litigation, employment and other commercial litigation. Grace's practice has been limited to civil litigation for her entire 25-year career. She founded Wood, Thacker & Weatherly, P.C. with her partner, Bill Wood, in 1996. The firm is now known as Wood Weatherly Trial Law. Grace is board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Personal Injury Trial Law (2000) and Labor & Employment Law (1999). She is a certified medical malpractice specialist by the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys. Grace enjoys an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell, has been designated a Texas Super Lawyer 2003-04 (employment litigation) and 2008-18 (medical malpractice), and is ranked 10 of 10 on AVVO. She was the president of the American Board of Trial Advocates in 2021 (national board), the president of TEX-ABOTA in 2019, president of the Dallas chapter of ABOTA in 2015 and is a Legacy member of the ABOTA Foundation, which she served as Trustee from 2014-2021. She is also the founding chair of the American College of Board Certified Attorneys, and has been a member of the Denton County Bar Association since 1993, serving as its chair of the CLE committee from 2014-2019. Grace has served on the Texas Pattern Jury Charge Committee since 2011 publishing the "Malpractice, Premises, and Products" volume for the State Bar of Texas. She is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Texas Trial Lawyers' Association (since 1992), and the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association.
