Gordon Chan

Gordon Chan is a client-focused corporate lawyer based in Toronto, Ontario. As a partner at Loopstra Nixon, he works closely with businesses, entrepreneurs, and organizations to provide practical legal guidance tailored to their commercial objectives. Gordon is known for his responsive communication style, thoughtful approach, and commitment to helping clients navigate complex business matters with confidence.

Gordon practises in the areas of Corporate Law and commercial transactions, regularly advising on mergers and acquisitions, bank and secured financing, real estate transactions, shareholder matters, and a broad range of corporate and commercial agreements. He assists clients through each stage of a transaction, from initial planning and negotiations to closing and post-closing matters.

Clients value Gordon’s ability to listen carefully, identify practical solutions, and maintain clear communication throughout the legal process. He understands the importance of timely responsiveness in business transactions and works diligently to help matters progress efficiently while addressing his clients’ legal and business priorities.

In addition to his legal practice, Gordon contributes to legal education and mentorship. He serves as a Business Law Practicum Mentor at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law, where he supports students through practical business law projects and encourages strategic thinking. He is also a Teaching Team Member at Osgoode Hall Law School, where he provides feedback on student presentations and assists with negotiation exercises.

Gordon earned his B.Sc. (Hons) from the University of Toronto and his J.D. from the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2020 and to the New York State Bar in 2023.
