Mr. Mahfood is a Partner in the Miami office of Broad and Cassel and is a member of the Firm's Commercial Litigation, Intellectual Property, Consumer Financial Services,White Collar Defense and Compliance and Land Use and Environmental Law Practice Groups.
Mr. Mahfood has 35 years of trial and appellate experience in civil and criminal litigation including, securities, intellectual property, insurance, contracts, real estate, products liability, class actions, criminal defense and environmental matters.
He has represented corporate officers and businesses in litigation involving corporate control disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, breach of contract claims, real estate development disputes and environmental regulatory actions.
He has defended individuals in Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement actions and administrative proceedings arising from real estate and viatical investments.
Mr. Mahfood has successfully obtained multimillion dollar settlements including for securities fraud, insurance and banking matters.
He has obtained numerous multimillion dollar recoveries for plaintiffs in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases arising from defective products, psychiatric malpractice, aviation crashes and general negligence cases.
Mr. Mahfood has defended individuals and businesses in federal and state grand jury investigations and prosecutions involving white collar and general criminal matters.
Mr. Mahfood has had significant roles in more than 45 reported decisions.
Mr. Mahfood was elected by the Dade County Bar Association to serve as one of its representatives to the Board of Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association Commercial and Federal Litigation Section and a member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice.
