Gavin is extremely well known in the labour law community, and was voted by his peers as Labour and Employment Law Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in Canada in 2012. He brings a wealth of experience working with clients in the labour and employment field and has a deep knowledge of the history, origins and key issues in law. Gavin intuitively understands the forces and dynamics of a situation and provides his clients with expert, straightforward advice.
Gavin’s practice focuses on labour relations and employment law. His experience includes representation of management clients before the labour relations boards, arbitration boards, the Provincial Court of British Columbia and the Supreme Court of British Columbia. In addition, Gavin provides clients with legal and tactical advice and long term planning strategies in the employment and labour relations area. He has acted for a wide variety of companies in the resource and other sectors of the British Columbia economy.
Gavin is a past president of the Law Society of BC, Life Bencher, former Chair, and current member of the Law Society of BC (LSBC) Ethics Committee, LSBC representative, on the council of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, and Chair of the Federation’s Standing Committee on the Model Code of Professional Conduct.
