Affirmative Action and Government Contractors
Companies with over 50 employees awarded federal government contracts exceeding $50,000 are governed by complicated and often confusing affirmative action requirements. Often, employers are unaware that such compliance extends to every plant and operating location, not just the facility producing the product or providing the services to fulfill the contract. Mr. Chamberlin has significant experience advising companies awarded sizable federal contracts on affirmative action compliance and related issues, including evaluating company-wide compliance, and drafting and updating annual action plans. he is also retained to represent companies audited by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).
Besides his representation of corporate sector employers, Mr. Chamberlin has worked extensively with public school districts in Western Michigan. As legal advisor to several public and charter school districts, he has handled all aspects of employment related matters, including wage and hour and unemployment disputes, student discipline and expulsion issues, collective bargaining matters, and grievance and arbitration issues relating to principal, teaching, custodial and transportation staff.
