Garth A. Gersten

Garth Gersten is an attorney based out of Otteson Shapiro’s Denver office and a fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel. He has decades of experience representing and advising policyholders on all types of insurance claims, and proactively assisting clients in managing their insurance programs by reviewing policies for gaps and overlaps, and negotiating insurance and indemnity provisions in contracts. Garth’s practice also includes litigating coverage and bad faith claims involving construction defects, pollution, intellectual property, business interruption, fire and storm losses and workers’ compensation disputes. He is a trained mediator with prior experience representing both insurers and policyholders nationally with a focus on California and North Carolina before focusing his practice exclusively on policyholders. He has served as an adjunct professor of “Appellate Advocacy” at Golden Gate University and as assistant director of forensics at the University of California, Berkeley. Garth has also been a disc jockey at KALX-FM and directed several plays and musicals in Illinois.
