Garin Scollan is a partner at Rivkin Radler LLP in Uniondale, New York, where he practices in the firm’s Compliance, Investigations & White Collar and Insurance Fraud Practice Groups. Garin represents insurance companies in complex civil litigation, including actions brought under the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. These matters often involve efforts to recover insurance claim payments made to physicians, medical clinics, medical suppliers, and other participants in alleged large-scale insurance fraud operations.

In addition to federal litigation, Garin counsels insurers and corporate clients on claims‑handling practices, fraud prevention, compliance considerations, and investigative strategies designed to address potential misconduct and regulatory concerns.

Garin also serves the local community as an associate village court justice for the Incorporated Village of Lindenhurst. In this role, he presides over matters involving the interpretation of the village code, vehicle and traffic law violations, and other disputes affecting residents and local businesses.

Before joining Rivkin Radler LLP, Garin served as an assistant district attorney in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. As a trial attorney in the District Court Bureau, he handled numerous jury trials and prosecuted misdemeanor offenses including assault, DWI, drug possession, sex crimes, and gang-related cases. His responsibilities included managing investigations, motion practice, plea negotiations, and courtroom trials.
