Author of the seminal book in Brazil ‘Taxation of Technology Transfer’ (1997), Gabriel F Leonardos’s practice includes litigating IP matters before the courts, providing consultation services on licensing agreements, patents, trademarks, copyrights and unfair competition; trademark prosecution; and arbitration and mediation in IP and contract law.
Mr Leonardos is a Member of the
Ethics Court of the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI)
and Honorary President of the Brazilian-German Chamber of Commerce of Rio de
Mr Leonardos has a law degree from
the State University of Rio de Janeiro (1986), a postgraduate degree in German
law from the Ludwig-Maximilian University, Germany (1989) and an LLM in
financial law from the University of São Paulo (1996). He was a guest research
fellow at the Max Planck Institute, Germany (1988-89). Mr. Leonardos received
in 2015 the German Cross of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz).
