Frank J. Bertuca is a trial attorney at Katz, Friedman, Eisenstein, Johnson, Bareck & Bertuca PC in Chicago, Illinois. His practice focuses on Workers’ Compensation Law - Claimants, representing injured workers throughout Illinois in claims involving workplace injuries, occupational illnesses, and related disputes. Since joining the firm in 1999, Frank has handled trial and appellate matters for clients working in the airline, automotive manufacturing, construction, law enforcement, and fire protection industries.
In addition to representing injured workers, Frank regularly speaks to unions and professional organizations on issues involving workplace injuries, workers’ compensation claims, and employee rights. Before joining Katz Friedman, he practiced in the areas of workers’ compensation and pension litigation, building a foundation in complex employment-related matters.
Frank developed an early interest in litigation and legal ethics while serving as a law clerk for the Honorable Ronald Dozier in the McLean County Circuit Court, where he assisted with divorce and personal injury matters. He also worked on general civil law matters as a clerk for the Honorable James Knecht of the Illinois Appellate Court, Fourth District.
Frank earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology, in 1991, where he was a member of the Moot Court Society. He received his undergraduate degree in economics, graduating cum laude from Illinois State University in 1988. While at Illinois State, he was a founding member of the university’s trial advocacy team.
He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association.
