Florence Gauthier

Florence Gauthier is an associate in the Labour, Employment and Human Rights practice group. She provides strategic advice to clients of all sizes, primarily on employment matters governed by provincial or federal legislation.

Florence regularly assists employers with complex commercial transactions. She works closely with corporate teams to support clients on employment and human resource management issues arising in the context of mergers and acquisitions, including share or asset purchases and related financing matters. Her work encompasses conducting due diligence reviews, planning and implementing integration strategies, and managing risks associated with employee transfers, conditions of employment and post‑transaction obligations. Florence also assists clients in the emerging technology sector by providing guidance tailored to their rapidly evolving business needs.

Florence has significant experience in workplace investigations and is regularly called upon to lead independent investigations into allegations of psychological harassment, workplace violence and other workplace environment issues. She brings a rigorous, impartial and sensitive approach to helping organizations effectively manage these complex and delicate situations.

In addition, Florence supports and advises clients on a wide range of employment law matters, including hiring issues, drafting and reviewing employment contracts and restrictive covenants, developing and updating internal HR policies, and managing terminations and layoffs. Florence takes a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach to supporting her clients’ business objectives while mitigating legal risks.
