Fabiane Verçosa

Fabiane Verçosa is a Brazilian lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in arbitration, acting extensively as both arbitrator (since 2012) and counsel (since 2000) in disputes involving construction, energy, corporate matters, real estate, and other complex areas. She has participated in proceedings administered by leading arbitral institutions, including ICC, CAM-CCBC, CBMA, AMCHAM, FGV, CIESP/FIESP, and CAMFIEP.

She is the Founding Partner of Verçosa Advocacia in Rio de Janeiro and serves as a Professor of Arbitration and Private International Law at FGV Direito Rio in undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional master’s programs. Fabiane also acts as Coach for FGV teams in the Willem C. Vis Moot and CAMARB competitions.

Fabiane holds a Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) and a Master’s in International Law from the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), with two research periods at the Max-Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg (2008 and 2017).

She is Editor-in-Chief of the Brazilian Arbitration Journal (RBA), jointly published by CBAr and Kluwer, and Supervising Professor of the FGV Arbitration Blog. She is recognized by Leaders League and Análise Advocacia for her work in Arbitration and Civil & Commercial Litigation.

Her professional activities include participation in the Arbitration Commission of the ICC, the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr), the Brazilian Institute of Construction Law (IBDiC), the Arbitration Commission of the OAB/RJ, and the Academic Council of Canal Arbitragem. She has also been interviewed and cited by major media outlets such as CBN Radio, VEJA, JOTA, and Valor Econômico.
