Erin is the Managing Partner of McDougall Gauley LLP. She is a trusted strategic advisor, providing legal counsel, practical business guidance, and pragmatic solutions. She has advised senior decision-makers in public and private corporations and large institutions including universities, Crown corporations, manufacturers, insurers, financial institutions, and regulators.
Erin is a trusted legal and strategic advisor to her clients, which include universities, Crown corporations, financial institutions, manufacturers, and regulators. She is recognized in Best Lawyers in Canada for Education Law, Banking and Finance Law, and Insolvency and Financial Restructuring Law. She has appeared as counsel at all levels of court (including the Supreme Court of Canada).
Erin has extensive leadership experience within the legal profession and the broader community, including serving as a Council Member and President (2024) the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, a Bencher and President (2017) of the Law Society of Saskatchewan, a Member and President (2017 – 2018) of the Canadian Association of University Solicitors, and a Board Member and President (2008 – 2010) of the Saskatchewan Legal Education Inc. From 2007 – 2023, she taught at the Law Society of Saskatchewan’s Trial Advocacy Skills Workshop, and was the Workshop’s Chair from 2012 – 2023. She was also a member of the Board of Directors of Group Medical Services and GMS Insurance Inc., a national individual health and group benefits insurance company, for over 20 years, including two terms as Chair.
Erin currently sits on the Boards of the Law Foundation of Saskatchewan, the Canadian Lawyers’ Insurance Association and the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education (CPLED). She is also the Co-Chair of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada / Canadian Council of Law Deans Joint Working Group on Legal Education and Entry to Practice. Effective January 1, 2026 Erin was appointed as Managing Partner of McDougall Gauley LLP.
