Éric Séguin joined Monette Barakett in 1996. He is a partner at the firm and a member of the Executive Committee. He assists his clients by providing strategic advice, mainly in the areas of labour relations, representing employers, civil litigation, health law as well as access to information and privacy / protection of personal information.
He works with a variety of economic sectors, public and semi-public agencies; health and social services establishments; large companies; SMEs; financial institutions; NPOs and CECs. He regularly represents clients in court, including the Quebec Court of Appeal, and before employment law and other administrative tribunals. Mr. Séguin participates in collective agreement negotiations for various social sector employers, private sector companies or non-profit organizations. His expertise is also sought with regards to public tenders and contractual matters, in which he represents the interests of the owners.
Eric is a sought-after speaker and regularly provides his clients with customized training sessions.
Over the years, he has been involved in various organizations and associations. He is the founding president of the health law section of the Canadian Bar Association, Québec Division. He teaches civil liability at l’École du Barreau du Québec and also taught labour relations in a graduate micro-program at the Université de Sherbrooke.
