Emily T. Art

Emily T. Art was named an associate attorney at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in 2023 after working at the firm as a law clerk since 2022. She concentrates her practice on catastrophic personal injury, medical negligence, and wrongful death cases.

During her time with the firm, Ms. Art has helped secure significant results for injured individuals and families, including:

• $22 million settlement for the family of a 25-year-old man who was killed in a West Side crash stemming from an “unnecessary and extremely dangerous” vehicle pursuit involving the Chicago Police Department

• $12.2 million jury verdict for the driver of a tractor-trailer who was injured in a crash on I-70

• $10.5 million jury verdict for the family of a kindergarten teacher who was killed after being struck by a speeding dump truck

• $32.7 million jury verdict in a medical negligence case involving the loss of one leg or foot

• $363 million jury verdict in the first trial against medical sterilization plant Sterigenics

Ms. Art has gained extensive trial experience early in her legal career. In her first trial with Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, she was part of the trial team that secured a $12.2 million jury verdict for a tractor-trailer driver injured in a crash on I-70. Just a few months later, she presented a key witness in a Cook County jury trial that resulted in a $10.5 million verdict for the family of a kindergarten teacher killed by a speeding dump truck. In 2026, Ms. Art helped obtain a $22 million settlement for the family of a 25-year-old man killed in a West Side crash involving a vehicle pursuit by the Chicago Police Department.

While working as a law clerk at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, Ms. Art assisted a trial team that secured a record-breaking $363 million jury verdict in the first trial against medical sterilization plant Sterigenics. She also worked on a medical negligence case that resulted in a $32.7 million jury verdict, the highest jury verdict on record for the loss of one leg or foot.

Prior to joining Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., Ms. Art worked as a law clerk at a prominent Chicago personal injury law firm, where she drafted legal documents, managed case files, and facilitated communication with clients from initial intake through litigation. This experience helped prepare her to advocate for individuals and families facing the consequences of serious injuries and wrongful death.

Ms. Art received her law degree from the UIC School of Law, graduating with honors. While in law school, she served as the Finance Chair of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. She was also the recipient of the merit-based D. Mann Scholarship and received the “Top Grade Award” in Civil Procedure II in recognition of her academic achievements.

Ms. Art received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and History from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Outside of her legal work, Ms. Art enjoys cooking and baking and cycling along Chicago’s lake shore.
