For more than 20 years, Beth Stengel has represented a diverse mix of owners, contractors, suppliers, design professionals and sureties. She has counseled clients through various facets of the construction process, including entity formation; licensing and registration; certification as a minority, woman or disadvantaged business entity; identification and management of risks; claims management; and dispute resolution. She has also worked in a variety of areas including contract negotiations, insurance requirements, and bonding and regulatory project requirements for her clients.

In the area of surety law, Ms. Stengel represents clients in connection with all types of bonds, including performance, payment, and miscellaneous bonds. She has assisted sureties, contractors, subcontractors and owners with all types of bonding matters, including pre-default investigations, performance default claims, payment claims, project completion agreements, ratification and takeover agreements, and all aspects of claims and default. Because of her extensive litigation experience, Ms. Stengel is the Practice Area Leader for the Litigation Practice Group for the firm.

Since 2008, Mid-South Super Lawyers magazine has named Ms. Stengel a Super Lawyer in construction litigation, and is AV Preeminent Rated by Martindale-Hubbell. She was also recently selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2019 in the fields of Construction Litigation and Construction Law for the fourth year, and designated as one of the Super Lawyers Top 50 Women Lawyers in the Mid-South. She was also chosen as a finalist in the Memphis Business Journal’s 2017 Best of the Bar Awards. In November of 2017, she was elected the first female president of the Tennessee Association of Construction Counsel. She had previously served on the TACC board as a director (2010-2013), secretary (2013-2015), and vice president (2016-2017).
