Elizabeth Ligon is a Partner at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, where she focuses her workers’ compensation practice on representing injured employees across North Carolina. Professional Background and ExperienceElizabeth earned her JD from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she was actively involved in advocacy and leadership roles, including participation on competitive trial and negotiation teams. She also served in student leadership positions and contributed to academic committees during her time in law school. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning degrees in Political Science and History.
Following law school, Elizabeth began her legal career in workers’ compensation defense, where she spent more than 10 years representing employers and insurance carriers. During that time, she handled complex claims, participated in mediations and hearings, and developed a strong foundation in litigation and case strategy. She advanced to partnership within her prior firm before transitioning her practice to focus on representing injured workers.
