Edwin C. “Ted” Barnes graduated from Utah University School of Law in 1978 and began a notable legal career, starting with the privilege of serving the Honorable Judge Bruce Jenkins as his first law clerk.
Following his judicial clerkship, Ted joined the firm in January 1980 and he has been associated with the firm ever since. Ted has played a pivotal role in the management of our firm, he served on that committee and as an officer of the firm for 35 years.
In addition to his contributions to the firm, Ted built a distinguished practice in resolving civil and administrative disputes. His early legal career involved significant work in the areas of workers compensation and black lung defense, being privileged to argue multiple cases before the Utah Supreme Court and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals at a young age.
With a continuing focus on real estate development and disputes, construction disputes and mediation, general litigation, notable water law cases, and numerous successful appeals, Ted’s forty-six years of legal practice have been characterized by fulfillment in an unusually broad range of matters.
Today, we proudly acknowledge Ted’s contribution to Clyde Snow & Sessions. His dedication, leadership, and commitment to fostering a positive work environment have made him an integral and esteemed member of our firm.
