Ted Feehan is a commercial litigator with Duncan Craig LLP in Edmonton, Alberta. For more than 30 years, he has represented businesses, professionals, and individuals in complex disputes involving shareholder disagreements, partnership conflicts, construction matters, employment issues, contract claims, and regulatory proceedings. His practice includes Administrative and Public Law, Bet-the-Company Litigation, Construction Law, and Corporate and Commercial Litigation.
Commercial litigation often requires quick analysis, practical strategy, and the ability to adapt as matters evolve. Ted works closely with clients to assess legal and business risks, identify efficient paths forward, and pursue resolutions that align with their objectives. He is known for his thoughtful approach to negotiation, detailed preparation, and clear communication throughout the litigation process.
Ted regularly appears before administrative tribunals and all levels of court in Alberta, as well as courts and tribunals across Western and Northern Canada. His experience includes appearances before the Provincial Court of Alberta, the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, the Alberta Court of Appeal, the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal, the Nunavut Court of Justice, and the Supreme Court of Yukon. He also represents clients in arbitration, mediation, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

He carefully reviews contracts, legislation, case law, and financial records to develop strategies tailored to each dispute. Whether resolving matters through negotiation or proceeding to trial, Ted focuses on helping clients make informed decisions at every stage of the process.
Ted’s commitment to professionalism and service extends beyond his legal practice. He was elected by his peers as a Bencher of the Law Society of Alberta, helping oversee governance, regulation, and disciplinary matters within the legal profession. He also serves as the Law Society representative on the Advisory Council for the Legal Education Society of Alberta.
Throughout his career, Ted has contributed to legal education and professional development by lecturing for the University of Alberta Faculty of Extension, the Legal Education Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association, Canadian Defence Lawyers, and private industry organizations.
In 2022, Ted was appointed King’s Counsel in recognition of his contributions to the legal profession and community. He has also been included in Best Lawyers in Canada for Commercial Litigation.
Outside of his practice, Ted is active in the Edmonton community. He serves as a board member for the Edmonton People in Need Housing Society and the Frank J. Flaman Foundation, and he is a member of the St. Thomas More Lawyers’ Guild. Away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and relaxing at the lake.
