He focuses on helping clients with real estate matters involving financing, leasing, purchase and sale, workouts, foreclosure, and rendering third-party opinion letters in real estate financing transactions. In transactions involving real property located in Maryland, Ed frequently serves as local counsel, working with out-of-state lawyers. Ed has vast experience in dealing with Maryland’s high recordation and transfer taxes, which are imposed at the state and local levels, and he has been able to structure financing and purchase transactions in ways that eliminate or substantially reduce these taxes. Ed also has substantial experience in rendering opinion letters in connection with business law and environmental and energy transactions. Ed has served as an expert witness on cases relating to real estate and professional liability matters.
