Doug Ewens is a tax lawyer in Calgary, Alberta, with more than four decades of experience advising clients on Canadian Corporate and Personal tax matters. He provides practical tax advice and responsive service, working collaboratively with clients and colleagues to address evolving tax laws and complex issues.
Doug began his legal career in Calgary with McCarthy and McCarthy, later renamed McCarthy Tétrault, after moving west in the late 1970s. With two fellow partners, he helped establish the firm’s first office outside Ontario. During his time with McCarthy Tétrault, Doug served for eight years as National Tax Practice Leader and for six years on the firm’s Board of Directors.
In 2013, Doug joined PwC Law LLP to establish its Calgary office. He later served as Counsel at Moodys Private Client LLP. Doug now practices Tax Law with McLeod Law LLP in Calgary, Alberta.
Outside of his legal practice, Doug enjoys spending time with his wife, Janet, their four children and their spouses, and their ten grandchildren.
